How to show up, stand up, and use our voice (over and over again)

How do we cultivate what’s required when we already do and hold so much? We are home makers, we are professionals, we are leaders, we are role models. Our time and energy are finite. Many are just so tired for we’ve been navigating this dichotomy or hope and hopelessness, love and hate, freedom and oppression…while shouldering the invisible load of just being a woman in this world…since the day we were born?

“How do I show up, stand up, and use my voice?” in the ongoing fight for equity, equality, and justice that generations have been enduring, and as the mission continues.

What once was, no longer is. What once worked, isn’t relevant anymore; it’s no longer enough…

Indeed, there is spiritual plane and there is the boots-on-the ground-practical-application. Both require incredible clarity, bandwidth, and receptivity.

This is something I’ve been contemplating a lot.

…On one hand, I’m tapping into ancestral memories of women who have lived through this all already, and have lived ahead of their times.

…On the other hand, as a visionary optimist who knows what it gets to look on the other side of this dark, loud, and seamlessly endless storm.

…As a woman who lived through the conflict of war, was called to move 4,500 miles away from my home, and is raising daughters in two different (vastly opposing yet so similar) cultures.

…And mainly as a strategist with the unique ability to observe, correlate, and reorganize sequences into practical, simple, powerful action.

How do we show up, stand up, and use our voices, bring in the change, reorder the world?

For over 10 years, I’ve been supporting and guiding women on their own journeys to do just that: from vision and deep knowing, to reorganizing their lives and business to realign with their mission, to bringing their vision and mission-driven impact to life.

I would love to tell you it’s as easy as to:

  • just follow these 3 steps
  • just meditate and journal
  • just change your mindset
  • just say no and walk away
  • just say yes to what lights you up
  • just step into your power
  • just make that phone call
  • just write that check
  • just do it

But that would be a lie, for we all know life is more complex than that. That we as human beings are more complex than that.

Here is what I can offer:

1.) Yes, as visionary women destined for greatness, we are oftentimes afraid of our own power. In fact, chances are that you have been repeatedly told that you’re just too much. Or not enough. I know I have! So, we learned to overcompensate. To bottle up our emotions, our magic, our desires, and instead conform to the expectations of others. To put others first. We became master diplomats who have already accomplish more than most ever will. And still we don’t feel competent, ashamed, guilty,… These gold-plated bedazzled hooks run deep, their pull is mighty, and removing them takes time, patience, courage. And, the right support. And just a side note: be weary of the “you should be grateful for…” and “Just look it from the bright side…” from those who claim they know you and wish the best for you. And, be mindful of (self-)gaslighting.

2.) Yes, setting boundaries is typically the first step to healing. And it’s not only scary and uncomfortable, but lonely. The shift in our focus and energy leads to our circles to begin to shrink, and not everyone will he pleased with that. What I would love for you to know, however, is that the shields you initially pick up, they are heavy. But with time, as you give yourself the space and time to heal, to release, to shift, these shields will dissolve and your new vibratory frequency will take over.

3.) Yes, as you emerge anew, so will the clarity around your mission and purpose, and the courage required to step onto your Destiny path. With your guiding principles as your barometer, you will become more discerning of the information and how to filter it all. Your truth and avenues you’re meant to pursue will be indicated with this lightness, warm and fuzzy feeling, expansiveness and limitlessness. Naturally, resistance will still show up, and that’s simply an invitation to get even more curious.

4.) Yes, as you elevate onto your new trajectory, you will also hop timelines. Collapse timelines, to be more accurate. There are metaphysical, spiritual, physiological layers to this that we won’t get into right now (but if you’re curious, that’s what we offer in the library of curated teachings, trainings, and tools within our League of Extraordinary Women). But that’s where you will start noticing just how much you get to accomplish now that you’ve recapitulated your past experiences and perceptions, upgraded the quality of your life, and re-aligned.

5.) Yes, this where we now alchemize knowledge into wisdom through our daily practice. We harness the divine rage and use it to reorder the world with love and care. We harmonize with the collective where each of us plays a different role and together, we uplift humanity in ways that we can’t always comprehend and articulate, in ways that we won’t always recognize, and that most of us won’t life to actually see.

And that’s the thing I keep offering to women around me who feel judged for not marching the streets (because they are busy educating or legislating or composing empowering songs…). We all are contributing our gifts, our time, resources, our energy differently. And that’s the beauty of it as all is required.

I would love to hear your input, your strategies. And especially, feel free to share resources where we can further support, empower, and help make the difference.
